What Workcard is
Workcard is a free hosted profile page for independent workers. The page shows what the worker does, where they work, and how to reach them. It's a referral object — something a worker shares with a potential customer. Workcard doesn't vouch for any worker's service quality.
Your account
Workcard is free, and the free tier is permanent. We won't paywall what works today.
You're allowed one account per worker. You're responsible for the accuracy of what you put on your Workcard.
Your content
Your content is yours. You retain all ownership and rights in the photos, text, credentials, and other material you put on your Workcard.
To run the service, you grant Workcard a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host and display your content. The scope of that license:
- It only covers hosting and displaying your content as part of your own Workcard, including the link previews and OG-image surfaces that represent your Workcard when shared.
- It is not a marketing-rights grant. Workcard won't use your content to promote the platform.
- It is not sublicensable to third parties, except for the storage and delivery providers we list as subprocessors in the privacy policy.
- It ends when you delete your account.
Acceptable use
Don't use Workcard to:
- Impersonate someone else or claim work that isn't yours.
- Offer illegal services or services you aren't licensed to perform.
- Post content that violates someone else's rights.
- Scrape or automatically harvest other workers' Workcards.
What Workcard isn't
Workcard doesn't endorse, recommend, or vouch for any worker's services. A Workcard is a referral object the worker shares; potential customers should evaluate the worker on their own terms.
If a Workcard displays a stated credential (Licensed in TX, Insured), that's the worker's claim about themselves. Where Workcard verifies a specific credential through an explicit verification flow, the verification is presented as a factual claim about the credential — not as a platform endorsement of the worker.
Service availability
Workcard is provided as-is, with no warranty. We aim for reliable uptime but don't guarantee it. Things break sometimes; the service is free.
Suspension and termination
You can deactivate your Workcard any time from the dashboard. Deactivation hides the public Workcard and pauses the contact form; your data is retained and you can return. Deletion starts a 30-day grace period after which the data is permanently purged.
Workcard can stop hosting a Workcard for violations of these terms. Where reasonable we'll explain why; in cases involving impersonation, illegal activity, or content that endangers others, we may act first and explain after.
Liability
To the maximum extent the law allows, Workcard's total liability for direct damages is limited to the amount you paid for the service in the twelve months before the claim. The free tier means that amount is $0.
Workcard isn't liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages.
Changes to these terms
The Last updated date at the top of this page reflects the current version. Continued use after a material change means you accept the change.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes that can't be resolved informally go to courts located in Massachusetts.
